Message I wanted to build a workbench for a while that was larger then the one I have. However, I wanted it to be stow-able, yet robust. So, I went about designing a Murphy Bench. Similar to a Murphy Bed that folds up into the wall).

So, here it is, stowed.
I want to paint it white so it's less visible. I also need to do some trim work, and shim some pieces. Right now, I'd say it's 75% complete. Just needs tweaking.
Overall, it is 6'-6" long by 4' wide(ish). Most importantly, it sticks no more then 3" out from the wall.

It's held in place using two fence gate slide locks. Out of the kids way so no one gets crushed.

Stage 1.
Nice and low. For working on lawnmowers(?) and other low slung projects. Also, its the starting point for getting it up higher.

Stage 2.
Mid height. I don't know what I may want to use this position for either, but, I have it if I need it.

Stage 3.
Lift off. Max height. I'll probably use this one most. I hope. However, I guesstimate that this contraption weighs in around 100 pounds. Maybe more. It's ridiculously massive.

Once in position I nest these blocks into the legs to help keep the whole thing extra stable.

I'm really not sure how I feel about it at the moment. It's far far way to far massive for my wife to make any use of. I'm thinking I should not have attempted to build a battle-barge, impervious to strikes from the galactic mutant demons of Esseron.

I know some of the cleats look sketchy. I bought the wrong size lag bolts and had to go with 4" deck screws temporarily. So, I will continue to shore it up with proper lag bolts and see how it goes.

Thoughts? Comments? Death Bench? Design considerations? All are welcome.
